The myth about Salt.
Why doctors say that Salt is not good for you?

Salt, in its natural state is essential for us, because it contains all the minerals and trace elements which the human body is made of. In its natural state, natural salt is just as fundamental to our physiology as water is. Natural salt has been considered highly therapeutic for millions of years. It is also used as a preservative since it deprives microbes from using available water as a nutrient.
When a health practitioner recommends you not to eat salt, they do not refer to salt in its natural state. They refer to table salt, because it can bring numerous complications in your body.
But table salt doesn’t have much in common with pure natural salt. Table salt is the result of an industrial process which removes all those essential minerals and trace elements from the natural salt, so it gets reduced to a combination of Sodium and Chloride (NaCl). This highly processed salt is used to make plastics, detergents, soaps and many other products. This processed salt is what we know as Table Salt, and is the salt used in the processed food.
Many salts contain fillers and anti-caking agents and even dextrose (sugar). Many people get surprised when they read the label of the table salt they use at home, just to find those ingredients on it. Here is an example of “salt” that contains sugar on it:
Table salt changes the body bio-chemical structure, alters our homeostasis and imbalances our PH level. It is highly used in processed food, making this type of food more damaging for our body.
One of the properties of the table salt, is that it draws water to itself. This is the reason why, when we consume it in high amounts, it causes water retention and with it many other health complications, like poor circulation, high blood pressure and edema.
Some minerals and trace elements work as a team in our body, like potassium, calcium, magnesium and zinc among others. The consumption of table salt can get the levels of those substances out of normal balance. This might lead to the formation of gallbladder and kidney stones in our body. Table salt has most of the minerals and trace elements removed, it leads to disease and should never be consumed.
Mineral salt is any unprocessed natural salt. It contains minerals and trace elements which are essential for us. Generally speaking, mineral salt has a variation of color in the salt specs. The best way to consume salt is by using mineral salt in its natural state. In his book Salt Your Way to Health, dr. David Brownstein, Medical Director of the Center of Holistic Medicine in West Bloomfield, MI, reports that the following are the mineral salts with the highest rank in nutrition. They are listed in order, starting with the highest rank:
Celtic Gray Salt (also called Celtic Sea Salt) – is a gray color salt that comes from evaporated ocean water along the coast of France. Its gray color comes from the minerals that are left behind when the sea water evaporates. This mineral salt is very high in magnesium and ranks highest in nutrition.
Baja Gold Sea Salt – is produced from the mineral-rich Sea of Cortez in Baja California. It is naturally dehydrated by the sun. It is low in sodium and high in minerals and trace elements. It is harvested by Baja natives who use proven traditional salt-making methods inherited over many generations, and it is not heated, refined, milled or processed.
Redmond’s Real Salt – It is unrefined salt harvested from an ancient underground salt deposit in Utah.
Himalayan Pink Salt – recognizable for its pink color, this salt is harvested in the Himalayan Mountains in Pakistan. It contains 84 natural minerals found in the human body, including potassium and calcium.
